Ggourmay – Art that’s Edible

I have so many close friends who are artists.  They use different methods of creating artistic drawings, paintings, and the occasional canvas of various types of paints.  Now, in our conversations, I am always explaining how my art form is in the form of food, in the same way their art uses paints.  My way of thinking about “art” includes many elements and methods of producing satisfying , digestible, and stimulating dishes that start with the same creative mind.  It all starts with a vision of what you see in your head before you ever begin to prepare the meal.  Thus, my mantra “Art that’s Edible”.

It’s a beautiful thing when you can take vegetables, meats, pastas, sauces, herbs and spices….then knowing how to put them all together into a symphony of tastes.  Blended together into a spread that is so delectable,  all who see will taste the art with the very smell of it.

I invite you to join me on this new adventure as we explore recipes that are new, vintage, and freshly created in the imagination.  What inspires you? What is your form of art?  It does not always have to be about “paint”.  Let our “paint” become a “sauce” and our canvas become a “dutch oven”.  Who knows, I may paint my dutch oven with real paint someday.  Yes, that was a bit of humor to brighten your day and expand your concept of who the artist might really be.
